About us

Interior Cluster Sweden, a non-profit membership organisation, is based in the geographical southern hub of furniture producers and suppliers. We opt to drive sustainable innovation, stimulate new ventures and smart specialisation.

The ambition is also to offer support in areas such as internationalisation, competence and product development. We liase with international organisations generating business benefits through innovative business development projects. Tailor made services and activities are offered in three areas:

Involve
Support and promotion of the Swedish furniture and interior industry when in dialogue with national and international partners, creating events to meet, generate business and benefits through collaborative projects and activities.

Enable
Create, strengthen and support international relations and make the Swedish furniture industry more visible worldwide. The Inside Swedish Design concept is connecting business, and clients at events with a joint message.

Accelerate
The next generation Swedish furniture and interior designers drive new ideas, new business models, new companies and become leaders based on research, and special education.


Interior Cluster Sweden is partner in the Furniture and Wood working Cluster Partnership (FWCP), read more Cluster Collaboration Platform.

 

The majority of cluster members tend to be well-known brands associated with Swedish design. Member firms are typically located in small and medium-sized towns in southern part of Sweden. Many are dependent on regional development, good logistics and attracting new talent.



 

Inside Swedish Design - Respect

The film, “A Design Perspective on Sustainability”, was produced by Interior Cluster Sweden with the aim of supporting Swedish furniture companies.  We hope to be strengthening international relations and making our members more visible to the world.

Swedish natural resources, distinctive sustainability values need highlighting, which we proudly do. Competitive advantages should strengthen the Swedish furniture industry and its unique selling points to international clients. The film highlights the sustainable perspectives that characterize the Swedish furniture and interior industry thus representing its longevity. Sweden is the design nation of today and tomorrow!


Furniture GO International (FGOI)

The FGOI project, driven by cluster organizations from Sweden, Romania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Spain is funded by the European Commission. The aim is for SMEs to reach new markets through collaboration and innovation. The targeted markets are USA, Canada, Egypt and South Africa. The project's objectives are to: 

CREATE A FRAMEWORK FOR INTERNATIONALISATION AND COOPERATION
Develop permanent and strategic agreement among the European partnered clusters and support SMEs market entry activities in the targeted countries. 

IDENTIFY SPECIFIC MARKET OPPORTUNITIES
Detect at least 2 ”hot spots” in each targeted country that would lead to new business opportunities for the member companies. 

 FORM RELATIONSHIP WITH KEY PLAYERS IN THE TARGETED MARKETS 
Identify 4-5 key players in each country who could help to develop new collaborative opportunities and establish a framework for strong relationship building. 

CREATE NEW SERVICES TO SUPPORT SMEs INTERNATIONALISATION 
Identify, develop, and promote 2-3 added value services in each targeted country.

Interior Cluster Sweden received in recognition of continuous improvements according to the methodology of the “European Cluster Excellence Initiative (ECEI) in December 2021 a SILVER label, facilitated by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA).
The certificate expires on December 31st, 2023
